piCorePlayer 9.0.0

The pCP Team has released an new version of piCorePlayer.

Significant changes

• Kernel 6.1.77
• RPi Firmware Feb 08, 2024 (Does not affect RPi4/5 bootloader)
• Support for Pi5 on 64 bit image. For pi5, you MUST be running bootloader: e02d33b3 Dated 2023/12/06 or newer.
• Squeezelite 2.0.0-1468
• LMS default install is 8.5.0 (As of the time of this posting)
• Various bug fixes and web interface updates.

Notes

• For Bluetooth users, after installing, please update the Bluetooth extensions.
• Adding a file named netusb to the boot partition will automatically load/configure net-usb kernel modules.
• Adding wpa_supplicant.conf to the boot partition will automatically enable Wifi—see Setup Wifi without ethernet.
• See https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi for some information about wifi drivers with linux in-kernel drivers.
• Significant changes to the GPIO subsystems. Especially on pi5.

• Use RPi Imager Then launch with the following command.
• rpi-imager –repo https://repo.picoreplayer.org/pcp-rpi-imager.json

New images or insitu update are available. The released versions can be downloaded from here.
