piCorePlayer Releases

The pCP Team has released an new version of piCorePlayer.

Significant changes

• Kernel 6.6.67
• Add Support for Pi5 2GB and CM5 Boards
• Squeezelite 2.0.0-1476
• Add Raspberry Pi DAC Support (Green Circuit Boards)
• Update IQAudio DAC Support (Black Circuit Boards)
• Update to latest HifiBerry Configurations.
• Add Autodetection option for Dac Boards with proper eeproms, and USB devices.
• LMS default install is 9.0.1 (As of the date of this posting)
• Added guided initial configuration
• Added support for the new RaspberryPi Touch 2 display
• Added support for more HDMI Monitors. (Some still need to edit config.txt manually)
• Added new visualization version of Jivelite, this version will automatically resize for more displays.
• Shairport-sync now fully supports AirPlay2 and mqtt. Full Avahi-Daemon will be installed. Configuration file location has changed to /usr/local/etc/pcp/shairport-sync.conf

Notes

• There is no default ssh password, it must be set on first connection to the web interface.
• Adding wpa_supplicant.conf to the boot partition will automatically enable Wifi—see Setup Wifi without ethernet.

• Write your image, boot the RPi, and find it by http://pcp.local This is broadcasting the hostname of your player, so please change your hostname on the tweaks page if you have multiple pCP devices.

• Best using RPi Imager
• piCorePlayer will be listed under the Media Player OS section.
• Selecting the Rpi board type will show you compatabile images.
• RPi Imager image customization support is NOT supported at this time.
• For Lyrion Server
  • Pi0-3, best to use the 32bit image for better memory usage.
  • Pi4/5, use the 64bit version.

• ALSAequal now supports Bluetooth devices. Settings can be changed only when device is connected, but settings are retained.
• Web pages are now in an extension (No longer in /home/tc/www) for faster boots, backups and easier www updates.
