3D printed case for touchscreen controlled piCorePlayer

mfraser 5 October 2022 pCP 8.2.0 Projects  •
I’ve designed my own case for piCorePlayer that has a 5" touchscreen and built in amp and speakers.

The buttons on top will work once I figure out why piCorePlayer doesn’t start squeezelite if more than one button is enabled with SqueezeButtonPi.

Raspberry Pi Zero W with HDMI TV and Jivelite

pCP Team 1 January 2023 pCP 8.2.0 Projects  •
This project is to install piCorePlayer onto a Raspberry Pi Zero W and connect it to a Panasonic TV via HDMI. Also, we would like to add Jivelite for displaying “Now Playing” information.
Warning

Since the introduction of the Raspberry Pi 4B, the HDMI configuration has changed and is continually being developed. This has resulted in a simple piCorePlayer configuration becoming a lot more complicated.

Setup Digital Dreamtime Akkordion Music Player

pCP Team 9 June 2023 pCP 9.0.0-a2 Projects • Setup
This project is to install piCorePlayer onto a Digital Dreamtime Akkordion Music Player which has a DAC based on the OEM IQAudIO DAC+ or DAC Zero module.
This Akkordion is a rare example of an early Raspberry Pi based music streamer. It uses a Raspberry Pi 2B and a pre-HAT specification i2s DAC added to the GPIO port. This means the sound card overlay is not automatically loaded and requires a correctly configured config.txt. This Akkordion is routinely used as a test bed for piCorePlayer, so putting together these few notes will serve as a test procedure and maybe help others setup similar old hardware.

What was used

Hardware

  • Akkordion
  • SanDisk Ultra 8GB SD card—see SD card.
  • Generic Wifi with arial.
Warning

This i2s sound card was designed before the Raspberry Pi 40-pin HAT standard.

Transparent piCorePlayer

Babbelnet 4 July 2024 pCP 9.0.0 Projects

Here is my new project.

It was born purely as a hobby and to test my skill to do something like this.

I built the case with laser-cut clear acrylic glass to allow a view of all the wonderful technology inside. The player contains a RPi Zero WH, Hifiberry Zero, 2.2 inch none-touchable display and two rotary encoders.

I had struggled a bit with the rotary encoders to find the right GPIOs and parameters in the script.

DIY Red piCorePlayer Streamer

Babbelnet 7 July 2024 pCP 9.0.0 Projects

Hi folks,

I want to share my new project with you.

The housing is made of a material mix similar to my last 2 projects. Aluminum for the frontpanel and lasercut acrylic glass for the case. The red colored acrylic glass harmonizes very well with the anodized aluminum.

The Waveshare Display is great. It has a very wide horizontal and vertical viewing angle with nice colors and with pCP it works out of the box. The size is the same as the Squeezebox Touch.

My Cambridge Audio CNX100 Beater

JoAnywhere 7 July 2024 pCP 9.0.0 Projects
All, I’m not really sure it ‘beats’ a Cambridge Audio CXN100, but it sounds pretty awesome, and will be in a great case soon.

Hardware

The RPi is connected to the DAC board via I2S. When I connected it, and set the audio output in SqueezeLite it worked first time!
