This project is to install piCorePlayer onto a Raspberry Pi Zero W and connect it to a Panasonic TV via HDMI. Also, we would like to add Jivelite for displaying “Now Playing” information. Warning Since the introduction of the Raspberry Pi 4B, the HDMI configuration has changed and is continually being developed. This has resulted in a simple piCorePlayer configuration becoming a lot more complicated.
What was usedHardware Raspberry Pi Zero W Cheap Single core so 32-bit only No ethernet connector No Headphones Jack No default sound card Only one USB connector SanDisk Ultra 8GB SD card—see SD card.
This project is to install piCorePlayer onto a Digital Dreamtime Akkordion Music Player which has a DAC based on the OEM IQAudIO DAC+ or DAC Zero module. This Akkordion is a rare example of an early Raspberry Pi based music streamer. It uses a Raspberry Pi 2B and a pre-HAT specification i2s DAC added to the GPIO port. This means the sound card overlay is not automatically loaded and requires a correctly configured config.
Here is my new project.
It was born purely as a hobby and to test my skill to do something like this.
I built the case with laser-cut clear acrylic glass to allow a view of all the wonderful technology inside. The player contains a RPi Zero WH, Hifiberry Zero, 2.2 inch none-touchable display and two rotary encoders.
I had struggled a bit with the rotary encoders to find the right GPIOs and parameters in the script.
Hi folks,
I want to share my new project with you.
The housing is made of a material mix similar to my last 2 projects. Aluminum for the frontpanel and lasercut acrylic glass for the case. The red colored acrylic glass harmonizes very well with the anodized aluminum.
The Waveshare Display is great. It has a very wide horizontal and vertical viewing angle with nice colors and with pCP it works out of the box.
All, I’m not really sure it ‘beats’ a Cambridge Audio CXN100, but it sounds pretty awesome, and will be in a great case soon.
